Snot snot snot…. So much snot!

Anyone else had this horrible cold? I’ve been ill for nearly 3 weeks, it’s gone between my sinuses, down to my chest, up to tonsils. I’m basically extremely congested and have had swollen tonsils but a chesty cough and sinus pain, headache etc etc. Like a normal cold but supersized.

and oh the snot. I don’t actually know how my body is producing so much.

Yes me!! I'm currently in the snotty phase! It's never-ending. I had it last year and had a blocked ear for weeks. Antibiotics did nothing, I just had to wait for the shite to end! Hope you get better soon op

GP has signed me off today and given me antibiotics as I have had a fever for 11 days and I’m now struggling with extremely swollen face, not much hearing and vomiting/vertigo.

In the middle of the night I’ve had very dark thoughts - the fever is particularly hard as I go teeth chattering cold and then get cramp.

Me too, so much gunk coming from my nose, and being coughed up. Pain in my chest, my head, my sinuses. Honestly can't remember the last time I felt this rough.

I've been like this for 2 weeks now, never blown my nose so much.
My ear keeps popping and everything goes muffled, now got pain across the top of my back, don't know if it's muscular or my lungs.

I'm desperate to get back to the gym but I'm just too exhausted.

thought this flu like bug is really rubbish as I’m not usually floored by most bugs… and then the lightbulb moment.

I've had it for the last 2.5 weeks.
I didn't take a Covid test as I had that in mid-October and it was way milder than what I've got now.
It started on 15th/16th November with a terrible sore throat and temperature. A few days later, I had the worst sinus pain I've ever felt. My eyes hurt, it literally hurt to touch my face and nothing would touch the pain. I had shooting pains in my head and neck and when I coughed it was excruciating. I've been taking Sudafed tablets and painkillers for the whole time, and still taking them now. I've never seen so much snot in my life and was coughing up the same sort of thing.
I finally went to the Dr on Thursday and am on antibiotics as they think it's turned into a sinus and chest infection.
Today is the first day I've not had a banging headache since it started.

I’ve woken up this morning with severely swollen tonsils, no white spots, but ear pain and more congestion

Oh no! Sorry everyone is suffering with this shit! I have the continual snot then yesterday I was coughing whilst bent over when I felt something go in my neck and now I can't turn my head without seering pain! It's horrendous. This morning after an awful night, it seized up in bed and i couldn't move my head at all. I can't get an appointment with the doctors as it cut me off after making me listen to a message saying emergencies only today please! I'm on pain killers and Voltarol.

I was actually delirious last night, DH says I was making no sense and I had to crawl everywhere. I just remember feeling very confused.

I’m on 500mg Phenoxymethylpenicillin 4 times a day, I’m 5 doses in now and it may be wishful thinking but I think there’s some improvement.

Sounds horrendous. I haven't got that part of it (yet!). I'm scared it's on it's way. My ears are now clogged up and every time I blow my nose, it squeaks! And it bloody hurts! DS has it now too. Hope you feel better very soon.
