Starting New Job Today at primary school

So nervous I’m going to muck it up.

haven’t worked for over two years and now have a job at a local primary school during their lunch hour. 5 x days a week

social cues among my peers are a bit difficult to read. As I have autism, possible adhd and EUPD. I work well with children and providing practical and emotional support to them.

I hope this job goes well. In the future I’d like to be a TA again focusing on SEND primarily.

im just so nervous. Can anyone give me some tips possibly?

TIA

Not just you, I’m also starting a new job today at the local library today. Total career change for me, I worked in property and had 2 professional qualifications and memberships but the time had come to move on. Just getting myself ready to go now.

Good luck @SummerDawn2000, I’m sure you’ll do great. Let me know how it goes.

Well done to both of you. Hope it goes well today. Re the lunchtime job hopefully they will pair you up with someone experienced so don't stress too much. You will be able to see First Aid procedures and pick up how the school responds to different behaviour issues. It's tempting to get chatting to some children but for me the most important thing is to keep scanning the playground/dining room. As long as you are on time, friendly and muck in you will be fine. You might also have a laugh😁. Good luck.

If you are out on the playground start organised group games for the kids. It keeps them busy and out of trouble haha. There's lots of examples online.
