Have you ever won anything on the radio?

Just listening to the radio, Heart have a competition running where you can win 50k and I was thinking how many people must enter, you've got to be so lucky to be selected out of the 1000s who must text in! Have you or anyone you know won anything in a radio competition?

I won a meal at an Italian restaurant in 1998 🥳 Can vaguely remember it and I'm sure it was for about 6 of us.

I used to enter a small local radio station's competitions all the time and nearly always won - CDs, meals out, haircuts, beauty treatments. It was great, not sure why I stopped actually!

I won a meal for two at London criterion grill with a limo there and back in the early 2000s.

It was on LBC and the comp was sponsored by Canderel artificial sweetener.

The limousine didn’t turn up on the night so we went to the pub instead.

We got the evening rearranged in the end and it was lovely!

I won a family ticket to the local water park while we lived abroad - worth about €200 so I was well chuffed! That summer we were there alllll the time, although given the amount we spent on food and drink in the place, I think the water park made their money back!!

I keep wondering whether to enter the Greatest Hits 'network' one which is often for a huge sum - I think its £185k currently! But then think of the millions of people who are doing the same thing and decide to save my £2 entry fee. I've never won anything except the odd weird prize on a village fete tombola and £10 in the third week of the original National lottery.
