Can anyone help me with this? I need to cancel as financial circs have changed. I’m not in a contract period as far as I know. I tried to call them today in my lunch break but waiting 20 mins I had to hang up.

if you can join online. Surely you can cancel online. Can anyone help? 🥹

Are you billed directly from BT? Or via sky/virgin?

I was originally with BT and had to call them to do it. You have to give 30 days notice. They wouldn't take it via live chat either.

Direct to BT

it pisses me off you can subscribe online (which i did many years ago and they’ve had a lot of money out of me!) and you can’t cancel online, have to phone.

Seems like the next corporate rip off that needs to be looked at, especially when they don’t pick up the phone

I imagine you can write to them if you prefer. Otherwise just stick the phone on hold on speaker when you're doing other things, presumably they'll answer eventually.

I agree it's annoying though. I've taken to scouring the T&C's for cancellation policies before I subscribe to anything now which you shouldn't have to (in an ideal world) but what else can you do.

Have you tried the chat function? I managed to do it via the phone but then they took an extra payment anyway, so I used the chat function on their website and it all got sorted very quickly. Good luck!

Text your details to 61998 and someone will call you back, it's normally pretty good. Have occasionally got stuck in a loop but I do always get a call. Try reporting it as a fault as you normally get through quicker. They will transfer to the right team

Thanks all for the advice. I’ll try the online chat and failing that the phone while driving.

infuriating isn’t it - how easy they make it to sign up and how inpossible to cancel!!!
