Does the pill ever stop working?

Because I've had two massive periods in a row (24 days to be precise). I've been on the pill for 10 years now and after the first 6 months of bleeding/spotting I've had maybe two max three a year.

I had a period end of October, then a few days later had the flu jab. Got Covid about a week later and the following day had a massive period. Recovered from Covid apart from painful ribs from coughing too much I suppose.

Is this a post Covid thing?
Is my pill no longer working (cerazette)?
Is it an age thing (42)?

If you can catch your pharmacist during a quiet period it might be useful to talk to them. Some often have a consulting room where you can talk in private. 🌹
