temperature of 40 on thursday, but only 38 since friday
upset stomach and no appetite
joints swollen and painful particularly wrists and ankles
legs aching, back aching
constant cough with slight rattle
headache - on and off

is it worth buying tamiflu now? Ant suggestions or advice?

Why waste your money, just take paracetamol or ibuprofen.

SwedeCaroline · 03/12/2023 02:53

because i want to get better faster and get back to work?

Allow your body to heal.

Hydrate, vitamins, paracetamol/ibuprofen and lots of rest.

is this likely to be flu do you think? Not that it makes much difference wither way. I did get the job, back in October time

Could be anything. We all just had a really nasty illness - fever for a week, body aches, blocked sinuses, cough, headache, no appetite. The GP thought it could be RSV. Although I got given antibiotics and started to feel better a few hours after taking the first one so could have been strep. Who knows.

Just to add: when my sister had flu she could barely string a coherent sentence together. I think if you're posting on Mumsnet it's probably not flu...or if it is you're probably over the worst of it!

If you got the jab you can still get flu, it's just likely to be less severe.

I see this type of thing all the time on here and it’s such rubbish. You can be completely asymptomatic with flu. It’s not always so severe that you can’t type on mumsnet. 🙄

Some people die of flu - therefore your sister can't have had it 🙄

OP - sounds like it could well be flu.

Personally I would be very uneasy buying any medication like that over the internet. I suspect it would be a waste of money.

Hope you're feeling better soon.

SwedeCaroline · 03/12/2023 10:14

thank you - I wont buy the medicine, just go back to bed and go back to sleep, if I can
