Dog lovers - need a dog bed solution she won’t eat!

We have an Australian shepherd and she’s amazing in almost all aspects. So gentle, training going well, gets on with our cats and is basically the best thing that ever happened to us.

but she will not stop eating her beds!! She sleeps in a crate at night in our room with a blanket and is great. But we have a bed for her in the living room and this is our fourth one. If I’m on a work call or we’re out (never left her for long yet and don’t plan to) she absolutely tears it to shreds and it looks like it snowed.

Is there a kind of dog bed that has no fluff? But is still comfy? I can’t keep buying dog beds every 6 weeks 😅

HiK9 or the cheaper Amazon equivalent are good for dogs that chew soft beds. Can then use blankets/vet bed on top.

Our dog ate through a series of soft beds as a puppy . We now have a hard plastic bed with blankets in, although he mainly sleeps upstairs on an old duvet . Think he grew out of the chewing .

Get her the plastic one and put some old clothes on. Some dogs will just chew anything and everything

Our dog is terrible for eating his beds, we have a metal frame one like this. He has a couple of blankets for it that I will lay out for him at night when we go to bed. It looks like a prison bed but he looks very comfy on it (had it years) and it got to the point where it was this or the floor because I was sick of buying so called ‘chew proof’ beds which would be shredded in an hour.

Solidarity to you, our dog eats any bedding until he’s really sleepy so at the moment we put it in last thing and during the day he lays across the lower part of the cat stand.

Tuffies ! They have lots - but for really destructive dogs they have a super tough one!

My terrier used to enjoy eviserating his beds. For several years I used quite thin memory foam pads topped with a fluffy blanket. He grew out of it eventually. This is the only bed my dog hasn't eaten! We put a quilt on top.

Another Tuffies fan here. Not cheap but we've had ours for over 10 years and it's a huge hit! Expensive but so worth it.

Our lab is a bed eating wee shite too. My dm suggested a duvet as that's what she used, went out for an hour, came back to absolute carnage.

No bed or blanket survives and the indestructible ones look so uncomfortable and small.

He now just gets cheap big fleecey throws. Or makes himself comfy on the sofa 😁
