Which sports bags do your secondary aged DC use?

I can't run to a north face duffel, but I think DD needs something very similar to the S size as she'll have to go straight from secondary to her sports club next year. Her sports kit is not light, so something with rucksack straps rather than a messenger style (which we have but she can't carry). I don't even know what to search for! What do your DC (Yr7) use?

How about a JD bag🙈

MintJulia · 02/12/2023 20:39

The school sell huge sports bags, that the dcs all have their names embroidered along the top. Ds' bag is 5 years old and still going strong. It turned out to be good value.

Mine don't change for PE, so come in to school in PE kit. So the lovely bag I bought them is gathering dust!

All the kids have JD sports bags for PE kit!

Hellocatshome · 02/12/2023 21:01

It depends what sport really. Is she needing to carry rackets, cricket pads, fins/snorkel etc or just trainers and some clothes?

FallingAutumnLeaf · 02/12/2023 21:18

JD bag is the choice round here....
Mine still use a draw string thing that is still going from pre covid.
Don't think either fit your daughter's meets.

The fact she will need a second set of kit probably means she isn't going to fit typical pe kit amounts, so go with whatever suits the activity she is going to.

PS just checked the North face duffel was what i thought it was. It is, and noone round here would use something like that.

What sport does she do? There re some brands that kids in certain sports like but aren't generally popular if you see what I mean. For example DS is a swimmer, amongst swimmers Arena, TYR, Funkita are popular but wouldn't be popular generally. Has she no idea what she would like?

Kanken backpack? Ebay fakes are great.
Every boy in our school has Under Armour or North Face. Girls a mixture of Kankens or River Island handbags.

NotTheBeesNotTheBees · 03/12/2023 06:31

@Hellocatshome I haven't asked her as it was going to be her Christmas present. Most take their proper kit bags but one (who also comes from out of town and direct from school) has a North Face bag.

Kanken is more expensive than North Face! I've seen a lot of girls with the small ones as their normal school bag.

Most kids I know who go to training straight from school take their proper kit bags to school, leave them in student services etc until the end of the day so they dont have to carry them around all day then pick them up as they leave. Is this an option?

NotTheBeesNotTheBees · 03/12/2023 10:24

@Hellocatshome I don't know. Her primary won't let her take her kit bag into school so I assumed secondary would be the same. Can't ask as I don't know which she will be going to yet.
