How’s your hearing?

How’s your hearing ladies (and gents!). I’m in my early 30’s with 3 little ones who like most kids are often screaming, fighting and generally loud! I’ve noticed I’m going to bed with static in my ears and occasionally a short lived high pitch ring.

One ear definitely isn’t as strong as the other anymore… anyone else?

My hearing is a lot better than it was yesterday - I had Microsuction at SpecSavers yesterday morning. Having my ears hoovered out has made such a difference. Walking back to the car afterwards, it felt like all the passers-by were shouting.

Oh I didn’t know you could do that? Did you have any symptoms beforehand?

Mine's definitely going down in the last couple of years.
I had a hearing test done to be told rather depressing news that my hearing is in the normal range "for my age".

Mid-40s. I still have really high function at high pitch. I can still hear (and be made to feel nauseous by) those Mosquito things to repel teenagers.

But just recently I've found it hard to filter noise. I'm struggling to hear conversation over other background noise. But I think it's more a neurological processing thing than the actual hearing.

I'm in Melbourne and God, once you're on their books you get chased annually. Tests are free. I'm very late 60s and have excellent hearing.

An interesting question they always ask is do you have to ask friends to repeat what they're saying as we often interpret such things as them mumbling.
I can't be doing with restaurant noise, i.e. music and the reaction is you must be hard of hearing - far from it in my case - though I've shamelessly asked for music to be lowered, saying I have a hearing deficit. Works every time!
