Where have the spiders gone?!

We haven't had a single spider in the house since summer. I've noticed because we have a child with an extreme phobia. We used to get the cellar ones and the big hairy black ones, also none in the garden. What's going on is it the weather?

In SE London if that makes a difference, in a draughty Edwardian terrace so lots of space for them

We've got spiders in the house, but then we always have spiders in the house. I work as a gardener and have been thinking it's been a pretty good year for spiders. I see loads of them scuttling about every day and often get a face full of cobwebs. We've also had more orb spiders outside the windows than usual, who drop down from their hiding places just as the sun sets.

They are all in my house!

My landing, bathrooms and bedrooms are all home to many a spider. I even have one in the bathroom that I greet each time I go in as it’s been in there so long.

We had, touch wood, none this year. But then I'm extremely phobic so my house is pretty airtight and crack free (including window screens). But I couldn't sit outside on the patio in September this year. These big hairy bastards kept running across the floor. They were everywhere. I've never experienced that before.
