Weird smell

Today I've noticed an odd smell and it's on me. I've had a bath and withing about 20 minutes it's back.

It's a kind of sweet smell, I couldn't place it, but dc has just had prawn cocktail crisps and I've realised it's a sweet/sour smell. What on earth could it be?

Nothing obvious although I dud have a follow up blood test as infection markers were slightly raised in my 1st one.

Going for the obvious but you're not diabetic, are you?

Alternatively, could be a vomiting bug, any signs of such a thing?

Not knowingly diabetic. No bugs.i feel fine. Dc are fine.

I'm assuming diabetes would have shown up on the 1st blood test (been feeling exhasuted/run down so checked iron and thyroid abd other things just in case) I do have anaemia and thyroid problems.

Pear drops smell? Are you thirsty/weeing more? Could be a sign of diabetes - see your GP

It's def not pear drops. I always drink /wee a lot.

Did you wash your hair in the bath? I had something like this, had a bath still could smell it, it was something in my hair, can’t remember what now, nothing awful just I’d got soy sauce in my hair or something.

Have you eaten sugar puffs, today? They always cause a strong smell. Coffee, fenugreek, asparagus, some cured meats and tinned foods, similar.

Diabetes was the first thing that springs to mind- get someone else to smell your breathe, if smells of acetone/nail varnish remover smell or pear drops it could be ketones which if you are diabetes is dangerous x

Perimenopause made me smell horrible and my sense of smell was more sensitive like pregnancy.
Hormones can do strange things.

Almost certainly peri-meno , I'll have a call from Drs Monday with blood test results so will ask them. Pretty sure it's not the pear drop smell.
