I need the warmest slippers on Earth

My feet are so cold.

I have thick socks and Sketchers Go Walk on. I love the support but I'm cold.

I have always disliked slippers as they look a bit old lady. But I don't care anymore. Warmth over style!

What can MN suggest?

Group on often have sheepskin slippers which are the warmest I have ever had

JustParkAngryFace · 02/12/2023 13:25

I literally just posted I got chillblains this year. 😭Buy something with wool or that says thermal. I have invested in £8 JCB socks from Morrisons

TheLightSideOfTheMoon · 02/12/2023 13:27

Uggs with hiking socks.

Buy the Uggs a size bigger to accommodate said socks.

Our house is freezing (mid-renovation), and I’ve found the best thing to keep my feet warm is Uggs.

Cheeesus · 02/12/2023 13:28

Yeah, fluffy bootie type is what you need. Eg

Yes, I also layer with hiking socks if it’s very cold — I have an old pair of Uggs I bought in a size up when I had an ankle injury.

Proper sheepskin slippers. I prefer Morlands or Drapers than Ugg type things. They also last.

hedgehoglurker · 02/12/2023 13:37

I got some cheap, furry lined ankle winter/snow boots on amazon. They are sturdy, warm and can go outside if I need to run in the garden for something. Not the best look, but teamed with some memory foam insoles and thick socks, I am warm and really comfortable.

LadyEloise1 · 02/12/2023 13:37

Skechers do Arch Fit faux fur lined boots. They are nice and warm.

crackfoxy · 02/12/2023 13:38

Ugg slippers are the best thing I've ever purchased! I got given £100 when I left work and treated myself , this was last year. They are so warm and last. Second winter now and they look great

Helenloveslee4eva · 02/12/2023 13:59

Aldi sheepskin slippers are excellent cheap and in store.
otherwise but tkmaax for proper Ugg boot type boots and keep them for indoors - my sis lives in Spain and indoor uggs are her winter go to - marble foots are like ice then 🤣

caramac04 · 02/12/2023 14:00

Previous suggestions are great. I have lined crocs which I wear with socks. Sometimes a pair of trainer socks and a pair of longer socks too. My feet are warm and supported, I can pop out to the bins or kick them off. Floors are all Karndean or tvc so not warm like a carpet. Lots of offers around at the moment.

Caspianberg · 02/12/2023 14:05

Giesswein or living kitzbuehel wool slippers. Designed to be worn in snowy mountain huts. The high ankle ones are best

Glitterbiscuits · 02/12/2023 18:58

I like the look of the Giesswein best I think.

There must be a market for stylish, warm slippers? Something for Alan Sugar on The Apprentice ?

Celtic & Co do lovely sheepskin slippers. I find the clogs with backs warm enough, but they do boot-style ones too. They also have solid soles, so you can wear them to put the bins out etc. they are expensive at c.£100, but mine always last 4-5 years.

Sidebeforeself · 02/12/2023 19:08

It’s not just about the slippers though..layers are the key. So thin sock, then thermal sock, then sheepskin lined slippers. Warm socks before you put them on , and ideally warm your feet before you put the warmed socks on.

Who is on a date in these?

I think a thick sole is important. I have ugly as hell Hotters but they are warm because they have thick soles (also supportive, which I need - Uggs don't cut it in the support stakes for me). We have tile floors downstairs which also makes decent soles important. Hate them in winter but love them in summer!

Nutellaonall · 03/12/2023 00:42

I get propper Ugg boot, the classic high ones. Not the ones they sell as slippers. The ones they sell as boots and keep them as slippers from day one.
