Do you think this leave allowance include Bank Holidays? I wish employers would mention this in job adverts

I currently get 27 days plus Bank Holidays. It's clear in jobs we advertise that our leave is 5.1 weeks plus Bank Holidays.

I have seen a job that I am interested in. I know I could email them and check but I wish it was clear in the advert.

"We provide a generous benefits package including 26 days annual leave on commencement "

So no mention of Bank Holidays -- but the legal minimum is 28 days - so my gut feeling is that the allowance is 26 days plus Bank Holidays.

It can't include bank holidays because the amount would be illegally low. Also you'd hope no-one is stupid enough to call it generous.

Is it the sort of workplace that closes on Bank Holidays? That would also indicate that these are separate.

That was my thinking as well. I think some parts of the business would be open on Bank Holidays - but not most of it.

It's sooo annoying! Just put 33 days including bank holidays. Or 28 days including bank holidays. It's not hard is it!!

But no - they think we're stupid and that their offer is indeed generous, when we can quite clearly see it's not!
