Hi, just a general query as my sons teacher is so closed when I ask questions and at parents evening wouldn’t go into any detail.
If a child’s attainment dropped severely last year (no teacher for 6 months due to long term illness, taught by TAs and cover staff) and they’re now Quite behind, what do the school do to support them? He is year 4.
Should there be a plan, what should I be asking? I feel like I’m failing my child if I don’t push this. I’ve left it for a while as I know teachers are under stress and it’s not their fault but it’s really effecting his self esteem now. I think around 1/3 of the class are in the same position. I don’t do pick ups so I don’t speak to other parents to know if they’ve had better responses.
thank you!
