Levis sizing - help!

So I'm looking to buy my niece a pair of levis jeans for her birthday. She is a uk size 8, not sure what size she'll need in the jeans. They seem to be waist measurements but I can't ask her to measure up as it's a surprise! Any help gratefully received.

A size 8 is a 28 inch waist and I’d say Levi’s generally fit true to size.

Erm maybe check by calling a Levi's store?

As I'm wearing a 28W and I'm def a size 10/12

I'd have guessed 25-26 is an 8 but much better to get it right first time?

Also you'll need leg length too?

I am eight stone 11, I am wearing a 30” waist I could fit into a 28 but these days I am erring on the side of loose ish.

Levis have extended returns over Christmas, so returns should not be a problem.

Sorry I typed that wrong! A size 8 is a 26 inch waist, 28 is a size 10.

Not something I would get as a present sorry! You can’t just select jeans by clothing size- there’s too much to go wrong, she might need a bigger/smaller waist than her clothes size suggest depending on her shape.

i would get her a voucher instead or promise a shopping trip to the Levi’s store. Not everyone can accept a too small item by just seeing it as a number- you might risk her feeling shite if she can’t get into them.
