Boys Christmas present ideas 5&7

catchmewhenifall · 01/12/2023 11:33

Anyone got inspiration for presents for a seven-year-old and a five-year-old boy?

What are you getting yours? I have some stuff on their lists but if all looks like shit (TekDek whatever nonsense that is).

Of course they desperately want a Switch (so do I) but we're holding out until they're older.

Honestly get the switch. There are lots of younger games kids can play on it, plus it’s great as a family to play together too.

Yeah, I know but we'll lose them to it. The tantrums over the Minecraft laptop and the tv being turned off... I just don't want to invite strife into the house before I have to. (Saying this as someone who was addicted to my NES a million years ago!)

Ugh, husband saying get a Switch (because we want one)

May I ask you to let me know what are the games you mentioned 5 year olds could play?

My son already has a switch but I'd highly recommend them. My son plays robolox (however you spell it) police games, super Mario . Can't remember what else

Lego, board games (throw throw burrito, UNO, top trumps) Magformers, annual subscription to local zoo or something. Garden toys like football nets.

i wish I’d spent more on physical items like soft play sofa, indoor climbing set etc. I know they’d still use it at 8+10.

Get the switch. DS has been playing switch for a little over a year now and he just turned 5. He absolutely loves all of the Mario games and Minecraft. He also loves Lego so that’s a winner.
