Can I encourage you all to do a Xmas market alone?

After the stress of last weekends Xmas market and light switch on with toddler and DH I decided to take myself today. Toddler at nursery for the day, DH on early finish so is doing pick up. I'm currently sat in a coffee shop in York before I go round the market. Absolute bliss. I can please myself, mooch around, look at all the stalls in peace.

I highly recommend it.

It's the only way to do it. They are hell with small children.

I never understand why people ask about taking kids to Xmas markets! You have to go on a weekday morning on your own or with a friend. There is literally nothing about a crowded weekend market and some made in china fake german crafts that appeals to kids!

I've always said that you need to be you before you can be mum and Mrs and this means taking time when you need it. At this time of year a Christmas Market with the smells and the lights does the soul wonders!
