How long did you wait to be induced?

I was supposed to be induced on Tuesday, rang up and they said they were busy and to come in at 8pm.

came in, moved to a ward, it’s now Thursday pm and still not been called up to labour ward to have my waters broken 😩

This is my 9th baby, in laws are looking after the kids and the longer I spend on here the less time I’ll have to recover after having the baby and be back to looking after them all on my own.

If anyone else was in this position how many days did you spend waiting for a bed on labour ward? It’s so annoying as I labour quickly and can have my waters broken it won’t take them long once I’m up there!

NINE children?

I don't know how long you'll have to wait, but they must see you as lower risk than others coming in, which is probably a good sign. As you get more and more overdue waiting, your priority level will increase.

Is it a big city hospital?

I hope the waiting is over soon.

I had a "worrying" bleed, and they insisted I stay in hospital so they could induce me.
There were no beds in labour ward and I wasn't induced for 3 more days.

It took me a week of waiting for both

Pressthespacebar · 30/11/2023 23:48

Oh god some long waits then!

@ironorchids yes im trying to see it as a positive really. I have had a bloody show this morning and feel very niggly so maybe it will happen on its own. Midwife also said it’s quietening down up there now so fingers crossed it won’t be long.

In that case, hopefully things might move along naturally for you then and you won't have to be induced at all!
