Help with procrastination tips and motivation

I work 3 days a week but also work for myself the other 2 days or over the weekend, it’s more variable. When I’m into the office for work I’m fine, can run my life, get organised but when it’s just me WFH for my own work I fall apart. I really like my own work and that I’m able to do that as well as be employed but I’m wondering whether to just pack it in. I procrastinate and just can’t seem to do as much as I should be doing. It often takes more time because I faff about. Sadly I don’t earn enough to afford to go into a shared office/co-working space. Has anyone got any tips or advice? Before I just give it up.

You've described me. I'm fairly sure I'm neurodivergent, or at least have very poor executive function in time awareness, task initiation and other areas. Not saying you are, but I find tips for people with AD(H)D really helpful so you might want to Google this or watch How to ADHD on YouTube.

Some suggestions:

Set yourself tight deadlines to work towards

Just say I'll do 10 minutes - once I've started I usually get absorbed and do an hour

Work in the local library or coffee shop or anywhere that's not home where I have constant reminders of stuff to do from my home life

Listen to ADHD music tracks on YouTube whilst working

Use pomodoro timers on YouTube

Use YouTube video 'study buddy'

Thanks for so many suggestions. I don’t think I have ADHD but I definitely identify with some of the traits. I’m going to look these things up.
