My husband and I have been giving some serious thought to leaving London for a quieter village or town maybe in Hertfordshire or Cambridgeshire, but we're currently a bit uncertain about the exact destination. There are some concerns on our minds, especially with regard to the quality of schools in the new area. In London, we're fortunate to have excellent schools nearby. I’ve looked into schools in some areas of Cambridge and Hertfordshire and they don’t match London and the private schools fees are similar to London prices!
Additionally, given that our children are of mixed race, we do worry about the potential for them to encounter issues related to being perceived as different. Can anyone suggest a diverse area?
We also want to move somewhere that is easily commutable to London as we will have to go in for work from time to time.
We want to get out of London as we’ve feel if it would be great for our family, and we already leave London for weekend trips and really enjoy our time outside of it.
Has anyone made a similar transition from London to Hertfordshire/ Cambridge and how did they find it and which areas did they like? We know we have to compromise on some things but wonder if anyone can help with suggestions?
