Can anyone advise on abnormal ECG? Very worried but waiting for GP

I recently had a pre-op assessment for a routine op. As part of it I had an ECG. I looked on the hospital app today and saw they have test results- I’d not looked before.

on the ECG it says ‘abnormal ECG, anterolateral infarct’. I had the ECG in August and no-one has contacted me so I’m assuming it is ok, but my googling suggests this is quite serious. I’m waiting for a GP call ( no idea when that will be) but if anyone can offer reassurance that it could possibly not be a big issue, or is treatable, I’d really appreciate it! I know this isn’t a forum for medical advice but feeling scared 🙁

The machine makes assumptions and is nearly always wrong, a person will have looked and analysed it and would have contacted you if it wa a problem.

Never, ever believe the print out of the machine. I agree with @ditavonteesed , they’re almost always wrong and needs human interpretation.

I had an abnormal ECG and it was correct but the difference turned out to be benign. Not everything that is different is harmful. Don’t worry until you have something to worry about!

Thanks for the reassurance! I think that it says ‘auto reported’ and that it hadn’t been sent to the GP made me worry it had been missed. Hopefully that isn’t the case.
