I've been trying for the last hour to upload my passport - it keep 'processing' til it eventually times out. I've tried reducing image size. Any tips? Driving me nuts! I've also tried using the computer camera to take a pic but that keeps saying 'setting up' til again it eventually times out! Argh!

I don't remember having to upload my passport when I last did an ESTA - I just put in my passport details I think. Are you sure you're on the right site?

you need to have one of the latest versions of your browser. I had trouble too uploading. Try updating it!

we just got 1 last year and didn't have to upload passport just put in numbers what an absolute pain in the arse. can you do it from somewhere else another device?

I've had to do it on my phone which is a pita as I'm doing the whole family. Anyway came to pay it wouldn't accept my credit card and now it just says 'payment status could not be determined check back later'. I actually tried to retrieve the application on my phone but it said 'no application found' but I got on the PC.

Are you sure you're on the proper esta website? The first three links that come up on google are not the official website.

Did our last month, had similar issue with the passport picture. Think it was the flash against the passport security features. (Made some of the passport 'blanked out')
Changed position until I could get a clear picture and it worked.
Have you got an email with your group reference on? You should be able to find you application that way

you probably are I see that you have to upload passport now sorry for doubting you.

Which browser are you using?

If you're using Chrome, try MS Edge or vice versa.
