Christmas present ideas for a 6yo

The wonder years of Christmas will go so fast, and as an older mum I’m not really great at what’s the best toys. Suggestions welcome!

Also I’ve heard conflicting views as to whether a Nintendo Switch (like, whatever that is, games console thing is all I know!) is Good or Bad!

What does he want? What does he like?

My 6yo is getting a Switch for Christmas. He's been asking for it consistently. Some family and friends have them, and they do seem good. We plan to manage/limit screen time in the same way as with tablet etc.

Other good presents are marble run, Lego set, bike or scooter.

Oh and a Yoto mini - they're brilliant and I recommend them to everyone

He loves ball sports, with some interest in music. His cursive handwriting is not very good, so I’d like something that helped dexterity / fine motor skills.

He’s asked for Peter Rabbit fancy dress, an electric blanket, compression sleeves - he thinks they’ll help his basketball performance…

A marble run is a good call. We have Lego coming out of our ears, and he has a bike.

We also have a Yoto mini, but have never got into a good practice of using it.
