Liberty of London

I went into Liberty yesterday.

The Christmas decorations were really crap and looked kind of thrown together on zero budget. I also noticed how little stock there was in some departments. I know they don’t exactly pile ‘em high but it seemed particularly sparse.

Christmas shop and haberdashery looked ok.

Does anyone work there and/or know whether they’re struggling? Hope not ☹️

Agree about the decorations. But judging by the buying going on they couldn’t be. Women in front of me was buying a couple of nice tote bags for 1080£ each😱

The Christmas decorations are for the tourist crowds. That's why they're cheaper and lower quality. If they were proper quality and expensive, you wouldn't get the same footfall.

It's like the ground floor of Fortnums with the biscuits. Cheaper items to draw in the tourists.

You don't get the same level of footfall in the nice room with the rugs, the vintage designer sections, or the men's wear departments.
