Drinking water…

How much water a day do you drink?

This is terrible I know, but most days I don’t drink any…. I’ll have a latte and / or a cup of tea. And then for the rest of the day… Diet Coke. Maybe a glass of squash or a few glugs of water if feeling really thirsty.

I think my body has become used to not having any water but I am really concerned I am doing myself internal damage.

I’ve bought myself a new water bottle in the hope that this will help me. I might try drinking fizzy water too to help wean off the Diet Coke.

1,5ltr most days. At least 1 litre. It's mostly because I feel like I have to and not because I want to. I fill bottles. It does help me.

Around 1.25 litres of water, a home made smoothie and two cups of coffee each day.

I drink 2-2.5 litres of water daily.

Minimum 2ltr. The older I get, the more I'm affected by dehydration. I definitely feel it when I haven't had enough water for the day.

Do you think I am dehydrated and this could be impacting me both mentally and physically?

I don't know but they do say you shouldn't get to the stage where you're actually feeling thirsty. You should be drinking through out the day and thirst is a sign you left it a bit late that time imo.

Dh doesn't drink enough water and it does annoy me!

There's water in tea, coffee, Coke etc. What do you think they are made of? Coke is about 90% water, according to Google.

Do you mean drinking plain water? Once it's in your stomach and mixed with your stomach contents it's no longer 'plain' water.

There are reasons to reduce intake of some of the crap in fizzy drinks, but lack of water isn't one of them.

Dehydration can absolutely impact every aspect of your health.

Begin a little experiment and drink 16oz more a day. Measure it out. Do this for two weeks and see if it's made a difference.

I only ever drink tea or milk. In hospital once a doctor told me the 8 glasses of water thing it’s a myth. You need fluid, that is all. I actually find plain water doesn’t do it for me if I ever do get dehydrated, I need tea!

I've also been told by a doctor that the 8 glasses of water a day thing is bollocks - the only issues with tea/coffee is that they're diuretics, but if you're a hardcore tea drinker (like I am), you'll find it doesn't affect you in that way like it can with others. The thing with fizzy/fruit drinks is obviously the sugars/additives/preservatives etc, they'll still hydrate you though.

To answer your original question - I drink at least 1 litre of flavoured water a day, that's just because I like it though. And loads of coffee and tea.
