Title should read scam šŸ™„
I received a text today from CDER Group

You have an outstanding account. Pay now using https://customer.cdergroup.co.uk/portal/paylink/fa3fsfilho0j or contact CDER URGENTLY on 0330 460 5295, Ref 17848949.

I don’t have any debts/loans, I havent received any letters for car park charges/ traffic violations/fines eyc nor from them
Ive looked at their website and it seems to be a genuine company, their reviews are dreadful.
As they haven’t included my name, I’m reluctant to phone them, as it could be a scam and I would have to give my details to see what is about
anyone else received this text?

seems a pretty clear scam to me, I’m obviously not going to click on the link to the scam. But from what you’ve said it’s a scam, ignore it.

Xanadu58 · 28/11/2023 15:29

I'd ignore it , they'd surely send a letter to you if it was a genuine debt that had to be paid . There's so many scams going around.

Hermittrismegistus · 28/11/2023 15:29

It's a scam.

I would sign up to MoneySuperMarket or similar and check your credit file. Might be a case of stolen identity.

Hello. Appreciate your post was a little while ago but just to say that I have had a text message with the same wording today. Given they are genuine debt collection group I Clicked on the payment link and the name was not mine. I rang the phone number and gave the reference in the text and it turns out that the person who owed the money had a similar phone number to me and they must’ve made a mistake. Totally out of order! They kind of apologised and said they would take my phone number off the account! Xx

SlipperySlope99 · 03/05/2024 15:45

@Sasib thank you for commenting.
I’m still getting texts from them, still without my name on.
I've a feeling it will be the same thing, wrong number and wrong person.
I might follow your example and phone the next time I get a text. Thanks again

Well I did it, after receiving another text today, I phoned .
I gave them the reference numbers they were texting me with and they asked me to confirm my name, which I said no to, and asked them the name the had on the account.
they said they couldn’t, but it was a male’s name.
I said well it’s obviously not me then and the guy said he’d remove my number from their records.
Hopefully that will be the end
