Christmas box of random stuff from the Chinese supermarket - what to buy?

For Christmas, I'm going to get DP a box of random food from the Chinese supermarket. I mean like sweets, snacks, cans of pop etc.

My plan is to just head in and buy whatever I see that looks interesting or unusual. But that might be absolutely everything 😂

So, has anyone got any pointers on particularly nice things I should be on the lookout for?

Laoganma black bean chili oil if he is a spice head. Wasabi coated peanuts.

Brilliant ideas, thank you!

What a brilliant present! Would suggest some of the following:

White rabbit sweets
Mochi
Anything matcha flavoured
Some different sauces - soy, red bean, hoi sin, fish, vinegar, XO...just some off the top of my head.
Little dishes for dipping, bamboo steamer or some other cooking bits.
Ramune soda (yuk but fun).
Bubble tea in a can
Aloe Vera
Some spices, like 5 spice
Packs of noodles (either instant ramen or noodles to add to other dishes)
Plum wine
Dashi stock powder
Crispy onions or katsuobushi/bonito flakes for garnishing
Dried mushrooms
Pocky/pepero
Weird flavoured crisps eg cucumber
Hi Chew sweets.

Oh and if you can please pick me up a large bottle or reduced salt kikkoman soy sauce that would be great as my place is all out Grin

Ramune soda (yuk but fun)

I was going to suggest this because it's delicious! Opening the bottle is the best bit though.

Indomie noodles - the mi goreng flavour!

Wang Shou Yi 13 spice powder. I much prefer it to 5 spice.

Such great ideas and, yes, I'm excited for a random flavoured crisps 😋

Never come across Ramune soda but I'm liking the "yuk but fun" vibes!
