Something got me thinking earlier, I’m a midwife and people always assume delivering babies must be the best part of my job 👶 yes of course its lovely to see the joy of the parents at delivery and definitely a relief to have a safe delivery but in reality nothing is nicer than when you’ve really been able to make a difference. For example doing a postnatal visit and the mother saying the latch is now much more comfortable with the support you’ve just given her or with colleagues when I tell them a woman told me she felt much happier and reassured after they saw them about an issue the previous week. Obviously if a woman says she’s really grateful for the care during delivery then that means a lot too.
It just made me curious, what are the real best bits of your job??
