3yr old not wanting to go to nursery

Hi all

Was wondering if anyone can help me accept it's just a phase that little ones go through with not wanting to go into nursery?

She only goes 3hrs Monday to Friday and this week has started having to be peeled off me in tears to go in. I feel so bad and never has this with my first, he loved it!!

This is normal for them and will stop, won't it???

Yep! It will stop. It may take awhile for it to fully stop, but it will get less and less as time goes by.
My daughter did really well, then suddenly she was in hysterics not wanting to go. It moved from full tears to a little whine here and there and then someday she can't wait to go!!

Hang in there mama! (I think maybe 2 weeks was the duration of the intense crying before it stopped) I hope this phase passes quickly for you!

@Mamamisha Thanks. She went in good as gold today when I walked her to the door, but then tonight we had tears and she doesn't want to go.

She does have a bit of a cold coming back that has been hanging around since October, and it was also late so hoping she will be happier in the morning...

Is she fine once in? My DS does a doorway dance and sometimes gets clingy and teary but whenever I've gone back to check he's been running about happy as larry. Usually it's because he's hungry and has been too busy to have breakfast at home so has it there. Our nursery has a bookshelf in the foyer and getting him to pick one to take in helps.

@Dubbledup Yes they say she settles well once I have gone. On Wednesday she was crying but very shortly, even before I had left, one of the parents had said to me she had stopped
