She needs cheering up so any ideas would be gratefully received.

Also any good places to eat in Chinatown or elsewhere,?

Finally any places you can can get non expensive silver and/or fun jewellery?

Are you staying over?

Go and see Operation Mincemeat.

Viet Food in Chinatown is very good and not expensive and has a buzzy atmosphere with lots of young people. Avoid Wong Kei. Camden Lock is a good bet for low cost jewellery/silver, lots of stalls and perfect for that age group. Decorations in Oxford St/Regent Street worth seeing (you could do that and then go to Chinatown to eat.) Alternatively, lots of street food stalls at Camden Lock. Covent Garden probably a good bet as well. I don’t know what the stalls are like as haven’t been for a while but there are usually jewellery stalls.

Thanks for that, no not staying over but will only be an hour away.

The silver at Camden Market we found to be generally rubbish. the food was not a nice environment either, a lot of standing up and bad smells in summer. Camden Market was an interesting look but we didn't find much either me or DD 17 would have wanted to buy, a lot of the same tshirts. No alchemy gothic which if your into goth jewellery felt like sacrilege

We found Spitalfields nicer for cheap silver (and nicer quality stuff) and better environment to eat in. Both DD and me picked up bits at a variety of price ranges. Greenwich was nicer for expensive silver and quirky jewellery (although not cheap), and had more random quirky bits.

The smells from Borough Market were extraordinary (although we were just passing through).

We love covent garden at Christmas (or any time really). Last time we went there was one interesting reasonably affordable silver stall and lots of odd quirky bits. They seem to change quite often though. The duck chips stall if its there is awesome although we generally end up at either covent garden wagamamas or any bella italia with tescos clubcard vouchers

Look out for bargunous theatre tickets. we've seen a few shows for £10-£20 a head if you look carefully. Some of the cheap seats are still fantastic
