Dd (age 8) has what the doctor says is a viral ear infection. To give painkillers and it should resolve?

She hasn’t been sleeping or eating but fever is under 38 (was 37.6) so school want her in unless it’s bacterial or fever over 38. She isn’t well enough though - wwyd? I think she needs to stay off till she can eat drink and sleep at night without crying in pain !

how are you managing to balance with your employer if you have one?

Not relevant.
If her child is ill then that's the priority.

Fuck the school! She’s not well enough to be in.

All the reasons she has been off have been valid, she just been unlucky.
I wouldn't send her in until she is better.
Ear infections are miserable!

I've just got over an ear infection and even with antibiotics it was excruciating!!! It's an awful pain, I couldn't eat properly and the pain killers only last so long! Your poor child, I hope they start feeling better soon

No way would I send an unwell (feverish, in pain, generally miserable) child to school. I don’t care what schools demand. It’s inhumane.

I can tell you for nothing that if my temp is in the high 37s I feel like crap.
