I want a Christmas table

I don't have a dinning table . I have no room for one. Not even a folding type. We normally eat dinner on our laps. But I would love to have a Christmas dinner table with everything nicely set out. I did look into hiring a table but it's expensive. I look on amazon at folding picnics type tables but they are quite narrow. And time I find chairs that will work it will probably be expensive. I need to seat 8 people. In reality it's for 1 meal . But I just wish it could be nice at a table.

Do you know a local painter/decorator?
Their tables that they paste on are a good size to seat 8. They might lend you one for the day .
Put a pretty tablecloth, candles etc on and it folds away flat too .

Trestles from IKEA and a bit of hardboard on top?

Could you ask everyone to bring a chair, or buy some stools which are probably cheaper than chairs?

Wallpaper pasting table or camping table plus tablecloth and everyone bring a chair.

Do you have a local share library? It's like a community group where you can rent things for a small period for a nominal fee. They're great!

Beg steal and borrow from others for the one day.

Some people will be visiting rather than hosting. Neighbours, friends, anyone.

2 x pasting tables side by side with a nice table cloth. Bring your own chair. It'll be great fun and everyone will love it xx

Agree to ask around to borrow stuff. We lend our neighbour chairs for Christmas when they host their adult children and grandchildren.

We.also have friends with a banquet table who uses that to host extended family for many years. I know they are more narrow but they can still look good. I have a table and always good intentions to make the gable look like a John Lewis window display but rarely pull it off. A table cloth candles and crackers are all that get added and that doesn't need a huge table.

I don't have any one to ask. Anyway nothing is applicable anymore as I have decided not to do it.

A garden table and IKEA stacking stools would be perfect. As you could put the table in the garden.

We use a pasting table with a nice table cloth over it. Takes up no space to store and you wouldn’t know looking at it.

I can’t imagine not having a table - would prioritise that over a sofa. It sounds like you could just fit one in so I would get a small extendable one and some stackable stools. My dining area is not very large so I also have a bench that slides under the table when it is not being used. It’s just a cheap one from ikea but looks good. IKEA is great for the kind of thing.

I'm agree I have always had small houses but always prioritised a table.

I found myself a second hand ikea dining table where the legs come off and have stored it in the shed. Is this an option ? I also have chairs stored in there.
