Legal Question Re Son's Car

Our 20 year old bought a secondhand car from a car dealership 8 weeks ago. In the first week the aircon wasn't working. We took it to Halfords who said it was something more serious than a flush through. We took it back to the dealer and they fixed it.

Now the boot is leaking - when it rains there's a ton of water in the compartment under the boot (the jack tray). DS texted the guy from the dealership twice over the last two weeks. He hasn't replied. I texted twice last weeks. He hasn't replied.

I think DH and DS will drive it down there (it's an hour away). According to Citizen's Advice online there's a strong chance they would be liable. Does anyone happen to know where we stand, legally? Are they obliged to fix it?

TIA

Stop texting and pick up the phone! Much harder to ignore a phone call than a text.

It is, but also there's a paper trail because we have all the texts, and can see that they have been read.
