I wont have the funds to buy a mattress until I get payed on the 28th so I placed the order whilst the Black Friday deals were on knowing amazon hold items for 5 days. Black Friday on Amazon ends on the 27th.
I want to ask if they would make me pay the full price on the 28th because the price will have changed even though I placed the order on the 26th.

No, you will pay the price on the original order.

What do you mean hold the item for five days? If you ordered on the 26th that's the day you would have been charged unless it was a pre order item.

I buy almost daily from Amazon what do you mean hold the item for 5 days?
. You place the item in your basket and wait 5 days ? You will get charged the amount it is when you pay by card at that time .
If I bought an item now I pay now at the price it is now. There is no 5 day layaway.

I’m confused. Surely if you don’t have enough funds in the account your purchase won’t go through?

I think they mean if they place the order with insufficient funds, Amazon won't cancel the order until 5 days has passed. So if she places the order, then adds the funds, she'll pay the original black friday price. Not 100% sure about that but I think it will work. If the order is canceled they'll see the full price.
