Just watched The Holiday on tv. Love a bit of a cheesy romcom but why oh why did they cast Jack Black?! No chemistry with Kate winslet. There's something about him that just gives me the ick. I can't put my finger on it. I think he tries to hard to be cute. But he's not cute.

I was just going to ask if no one else gets serious ick from Eddie Redmayne! At first I thought it was just the first role I saw him play. But no, it's him in everything.

He may be a lovely chap but, on screen, he comes across as so soft and delicate.

More TV than film but John Barrowman

I’ve never been so glad to see someone disappear from tv. Hopefully he’ll stick to panto. The worst was that awful Torchwood thing he was in - I nearly threw up in my mouth watching one episode when dh put it on accidentally! It just seemed like he’d got a bit of power and influence and wanted an excuse to be sleazy and involve Dr Who in it for some reason!

I agree with so many of these - especially Tom Hiddleston, Tom Hardy, Eddie Remayne. Loads of actors who are supposed to be good looking just look like waxworks or something...so unappealing.
Never understood the love for Leo DiCaprio either - the epitome of creepy, and is turning into Jack Nickolson as he ages. Johnny Depp looks like he needs a hose down with a power washer.

Ben Affleck, big time! It's the ridiculous hard jaw and the bland eyes!
Never understoof the attarction of di Caprio, though he's a good actor, not quite an ick though.
Used to love Hugh Grant when he was young, but now (last 15yrs) bordering on ick.

Yes, exactly. He was brilliant and specialised in deeply unpleasant characters. We were meant to find him creepy and loathsome.

I assumed the OP was talking about the kind of more conventionally attractive type who gets cast as romantic leads or action heroes?

I find George Clooney kind of icky in a clichéd kind of way — I think it’s the big, brown bedroom eyes. Though I like him in comic roles.

I’ve always found Leonardo di Caprio repugnant — he looked like a small boy in Titanic, then transmogrified into Mr Potato Head.

Colin Firth looks constipated and vaguely gammony. I can’t buy Ralph Fiennes as a romantic lead at all. (Which meant The English Patient didn’t work for me on any level. I would genuinely have shagged Kevin Whately over the other men, including Naveen Andrew’s.)

Daniel Craig is a bit weird-looking, and Benedict Cumberbatch is very, very weird-looking. Cillian Murphy, while a brilliant actor, is too Gollum-y for me.

I’m clearly difficult to please.

I agree about Robin Williams- though I know a lot of people enjoyed him, he made me feel uncomfortable.

Depp of course; I hope he gets convicted for something in the end.

Tennant is so unappealling to look at.

Cruise is weasely and creepy.
