Film stars who give you the ick

Just watched The Holiday on tv. Love a bit of a cheesy romcom but why oh why did they cast Jack Black?! No chemistry with Kate winslet. There's something about him that just gives me the ick. I can't put my finger on it. I think he tries to hard to be cute. But he's not cute.

Who is your ick?

Jack Black always looks like he has the cold sweats

Interesting.
He always reminds me of the late John Belushi.
Someone mentioned David Walliams. I have always had a strong Viceral reaction to him.
Horrible man.
I would love to say Gok Wan also, but he isn't an Actor. - Actually don't know what the fuck he is--

Not an actor but a talentless try hard who relies on auto tune, and is in a permanent state of priapism when he’s within sniffing distance of Tom Jones. Yes the twat that is Olly fucking Murs. His 15 mins of fame have been 16 mins too long. Ick Central

Cannot abide him. Never seen the appeal. Total bellend

PearlClutzsche · 27/11/2023 18:09

What's with all the mentions of David Walliams?
I mean, it's true that he's one of the ickiest icksters ever to have breathed, but film star he definitely ain't.
Ditto Russell Brand.

PearlClutzsche · 27/11/2023 18:10

And Olly Murs, for that matter .

Very true - I think it's just when people hear the word 'ick' certain people spring to mind straight away. He is definitely one of them.

I won't argue with that, @Farmageddon !

He might not be a ‘star’ but he is an actor so think its fair to name him.

Baldieheid · 27/11/2023 20:12

Someone mentioned Jared Leto. He looks like he'd enjoy wearing his victims skins.....

leilani83 · 27/11/2023 20:22

Tom Hiddleston

Tom Hardy (after what I read about him)

Dominic West

Johnny Depp

leilani83 · 27/11/2023 20:42

Martin Freeman
Nicolas Cage
Rupert Grint (sorry)
Al Pacino
Anthony Hopkins

BlueGrey1 · 27/11/2023 21:05

Sometimes Ricky Gervais, but maybe that’s just the character he plays in the office

TheFireflies · 27/11/2023 21:49

Jared Leto - just absolutely weird and loves himself
Jack Nicholson - like an escapee from the circus with his creepy smirk
Timothee Chalamet - looks like a teenage boy who doesn’t shower properly
Channing Tatum - block of stone
Tom Cruise - freaky in a bad way
Megan Fox - pouty and ridiculous
Keira Knightley - that chin tilt she does
Emma Watson - just a cardboard cut out on screen
Chris Pine in Wonder Woman - as if she’d moon over him
Philip Seymour Hoffman - clammy
Bill Murray in Ghostbusters in particular
Ryan Reynolds for no reason I can pinpoint
Jim Carrey when he pulls ridiculous faces
Tom Hardy when he does ridiculous voices (most of the time) and his wet look lips

So glad nobody said Michael J Fox. He's just so great, and a true ambassador for all those wanting to get a real treatment that works for Parkinson's. I've always loved him since I was aged 10, and have an even greater amount of affection and affinity with him since I've had a medication induced neurological involuntary movement disorder too. He's really strong, so humble, intelligent, and just an all round great guy.

I'd have cried a bit if he'd been mentioned 😢

ForeverDelayedEpiphany · 27/11/2023 22:14

littleblackcat27 · 27/11/2023 06:52

Whats wrong with him??

Good grief. What a sight for sore eyes I can't unsee.... (who is it btw?! I can't tell under all the bad facial hair...)

KimberleyClark · 27/11/2023 22:22

I used to think Patrick Stewart was great, but have gone off him after seeing his wife is 40 years his junior. Seems he’s not so different from the rest of them.

Eww...what an old perv.

AnImaginaryCat · 27/11/2023 23:04

Many mentioned already and I'd like to add Ray Liotta. Never comfortably watched a film he was in.

BreakfastAtMilliways · 27/11/2023 23:19

Andylion · 27/11/2023 00:00

Timothée Chalamet. Just, no.

Agreed. Something about the pointed chin and triangular face just hits all the wrong buttons. Really weird looking.

ETA there’s a reason why John Travolta was popularly known as Johnny Revolting back when Grease first came out.

JFT · 27/11/2023 23:30

It was me who mentioned David Walliams first and yep those who mentioned it are correct he's not a film 'star' LOL and also correct, I just though who gives me the most on screen 'ick' and it was him. I've met him in real life tho, we were both walking dogs, and he was lovely, v friendly and chatty considering he didn't know me from adam. So... how odd.

BreakfastAtMilliways · 27/11/2023 23:54

Also, Asa Butterfield. Very weird eyes, like he’s an alien with X-ray vision.

PearlClutzsche · 28/11/2023 00:09

I used to like Oscar Isaac, but then I noticed he had a really big bum. It's sort of feminine looking, very weird. The ick has now set in.

RafaFan · 28/11/2023 00:46

Owen Wilson. Bleurgh...

WavingCatsandDogs · 28/11/2023 04:09

muddyford · 27/11/2023 06:50

Not a film star but David Jason. Lovely in his younger days but now faintly unctuous and creepy.

I think he's next on the list for a Huw or Russell.

Storminthesky · 28/11/2023 06:51

Gene Wilder has always givene the ick eurgh. And Jim Carey too.

whynotwhatknot · 28/11/2023 12:52

not the ick as such but i dont get why everyne fancies ryan gosling with his weird squinty eyes
