I have always been a reasonably adventurous and unfussy eater. I like my food, and like good food, but don't over eat. In the last few months I've become increasingly intolerant to normal food, I just really don't like things that I used to eat normally and can't handle a full portion.I only crave and can eat a full portion of very simple, almost child like food. Things like bread and cheese, avocado on toast, pasta and pesto, chips, a few slices of roast beef, crackers and cream cheese. I suddenly can't stand more than a few ingredients on a plate, and these need to be good and fresh ingredients. Things like fresh baguette instead of normal slices from a loaf. This is completely unlike me, before I would happily eat and enjoy a whole range of food, even ready meals and processed food.
Things also taste much stronger to me. For example tonight I cooked a roast, which is one of the only dishes left that I'll actually eat a full portion of, but the meat tasted (to me) really strongly of onion and so I couldn't eat more than a few bites. I did cook it in onion, but I'd say a normal amount, and the rest of the family didn't notice.
If it's relevant I'm 33, have a child, am not pregnant and have a healthy BMI. Has anyone experienced this before? What's going on??
