Places to eat in Kingston

Can anyone suggest somewhere nice but not fancy for lunch in Kingston-on-Thames? Context is a birthday lunch while Christmas shopping with my 73 year old mother, so somewhere close to the main shopping area. Also need to factor in 1 vegetarian and 1 fussy eater (basically eats English/American/Italian). Chain restaurants are fine, we've been to TGI Friday before but I think it's closed. The last few years we've gone to the cafe in the church by John Lewis (which is lovely!) but we want something a bit nicer this year as it's also a birthday.

Browns is always quite nice - it's near the river

Bill’s on the riverfront has something for everyone.

Cote, browns or bills by the river and there is also a pub called the bishop. All close to the market square and main shops.

Browns for sure

My daughter and I had a trip to Kingston and ate in Brown's during the summer, it was lovely to have the view. We also ate in a nice place in an arcade between the river and the square, it had a lovely atmosphere. Anybody know what it's called?

If you didn't have fussy people I would suggest Steins (Austrian).. otherwise Bills fits the brief or any of the chain places along the Riverside..

Megan's? By Market Place.
Along the river - walk down by TK Maxx & you have loads of choice:
Indian, Bill's, Brown's, pubs, Comptoir Libanais, Busaba etc
Eat in if too cold. But still nice view.
Seversl Pizza & Pasta places:
Franca Manca opposite M&S on Clarence St. & Zizzi near Market Place plus another one, I can't remember the name of! 😊

Wildwood near the marketplace does pizza and grill type food. Cotes and Browns are nice too but could be too fancy for a fussy eater, I think Cotes is closed anyway for a refurb.

Thanks, some good options. I agree Bills and Browns may not suit my fussy sister but maybe another trip!

Actually, Wildwood might be a winner!
