Braising steak with mash recipe please?

How long does it need to cook for, has the boat sailed for tonight's tea? Usually eat about 5.30

Any recipes?

Put tea back to 6ish...3 hours from now

Bash it down abit so it's flatter
Slice onions, carrots, get steak in cover with hot water and foil and get in oven now.

I find you need 3 hours min, usually 4. And a cast iron pot is the best thing.
I brown onion, carrot & celery, cut into chunks for a casserole or sofrito if im doing a ragu. Then season & brown the meat. Few tbsps Worcestershire sauce, 180ml red wine, some herbs & garlic, a tin of polpa toms or Passata & a knorr rich beef stock pot. Stir every hour & add more water if needed. I also add more seasoning at the end. Should thicken on its own but if not I add some cornflour at the end.
