Mobile phone insurance question please help

I cannot find any information online, all I want to know is when you get phone insurance does it cover a phone on pay monthly contract as you technically haven’t “purchased” it?! Seems like a pretty straightforward query but I can’t find an answer anywhere and it’s driving me nuts!!! Grateful of any help

The phone is yours, it's just the payment that's spread out over the term of the contract.

So yes, phone insurance covers the phone but you'll need to provide serial numbers and proof of purchase etc.

Generally check your contents insurance as you can be covered with it. Money Saving Expert has good advice on this. Good luck
