Any Brits in Canada? Pension question

Accessing your Canadian pension when you retire in the UK - how easy is it?

Currently living in Ontario, I will be living here for years but not forever - no concrete plans when to return to the UK yet but I imagine we will stay here for 5 - 10 years. Retirement is a long way off for me yet but I want to better understand my finances and be prepared. I will preface by saying I find pensions confusing and I don't really understand any of it, not through lack of trying to.

A large chunk of my salary is going in CPP contributions and my private pension through work.

Does anyone know if I can access/withdraw my pension in the UK if I retire there?

My private pension company did say yes but the man I spoke to didn't sound too sure himself. This is all really new to me so I'm totally confused. I just don't want to be paying a lot of money every month and not have knowledge about how/when I can access it.
