Contact with ill Child.

6 year old been ill coughing, temp etc for a 5 to 6 days. Dad saw child last on Tuesday and no contact since then. Aware child was mildly unwell. Child started on antibiotics for chest infection yesterday. Aibu to think it's odd that your young child is ill but you have not contacted their mother for 6 days to check ok?

As a parent I’d have expected to be informed at the point antibiotics were required. Anything further depends on your relationship as co-parents, for a minor illness I wouldn’t have chased, I’d have trusted the other parent and adhered to our contact norms. If my child had their own phone, I’d likely have text/called them directly.

If parents are not together it would be reasonable to expect only contact as and when. Resident parent could update re. Abs If together a gap of five days' contact seems unusual even without illness.
