Has anyone sold a valuable watch?

And how did you go about it?

Looked at a few sites online but I'm really dubious. I thought Watchfinder looked decent and then read the reviews which were appalling so that's put me off.

Unfortunately we don't have any of the larger jewellers/valuers even within a couple of hours drive.

Any thoughts or recommendations please?

Have you got any supporting item, box, receipts, accessories etc? This can help increase the value.
Have a look at the watch sites, see what they're asking & remember that they will pay less because of their margin.
I'm no expert but there are some people here who are very clued up.
My wife says my skill is in buying watches, not selling them!

What are you selling and as above do you have box papers?

I sold my Rolex to an independent family jeweller at our local town. I just popped in to see if they were interested and came out with a bank transfer that I was pleased with!
I had the box, receipt, spare links and original certificate of authenticity.
Worth a try at various local indie jewellers. Be prepared for rejection but the worst they can say is no! Good luck.

Yes, I have the box, spare links and certificate of authenticity.

I'm just extremely wary of sending it anywhere due to the value but given we don't have anywhere nearby that I could go in person I don't see how else I could do it.
