I'm fighting a kind of virus that has left my mouth /gums swollen and tender. Can't really chew or open my mouth too widely.

Currently living off fresh juiced greens, lentil and bacon soup, and milkshakes 🤣

Can I have some of your favourite soup recipes to try and shake it up a bit?

Are you OK with spices? A soup made with smooth peanut butter vegetable stock, and chilli is delicious and fortifying. This is one example, but there are loads of alternatives.

With the creamy peanut butter, spicy chili powder and black pepper, this soup is packed with flavor and nutrients.

Roast sweet potato possibly with coconut milk makes a good soup. Ditto roast butternut squash.

There’s broccoli and Stilton/cheese soup. I bought a broccoli yesterday to do, then remembered I forgot the Stilton, so will see if regular cheese will do.

Another one I really like is green beans with garlic. There’s very little garlic but it really makes the flavour.

Celeriac (with or without addition of bacon) is my favourite at the moment. Chop and roast the celeriac with an onion, then add to saucepan with stock (& the cooked bacon lardons if using), bring to the boil and simmer for 10 minutes before blitzing. A dash of cream or crème fraiche makes it extra creamy.
