HSBC...arghhhh

Anyone else dealing with the shambles of their App and Web access going down today. Well obviously there must be others impacted but just wanted to rant. 😂I need to shift money to another account asap and I can't. Both have been down since this morning and it's so shit! I do have another account with funds in it but still. I've been with this bank over 20 years and really think it's time to move although I see reports of other banks suffering the same outages from time to time😤

Is it only online/app banking that's affected or are "in person" card transactions too? Has the bank been hit by criminals?

Card transactions are fine, I've used mine today and not had an issue.

I believe it's a technical problem on their end.

We bank with them at work, and I logged into our business account several times this morning and was able to view all our accounts and post transactions. Maybe it is just personal customers affected.

ring them up and speak to them and they will transfer it for you

I’ve just used telephones banking to move funds between accounts. Was a bit of a faff, but did the job

Thanks…managed to get through to a human who did the transfer. The recorded message when you call HSBC helpfully still advises all transfers can be done online and via the app🙄

They aren't going to redo their whole automated system for what is hopefully a short lived blip. Otherwise the phones would be down too!

It's imagine lots of people are going to move their account.
How come apps like Monzo never go down?

Another ‘arrrgghhh’ to add. I’ve been paid today and want to move money. I cannot deal with doing it over the phone but I guess I’ll have to.

just used a hack - 1) turn on airplane mode 2) open app 3) turn off airplane mode. You should then get to the log on screen… worked for me

They don’t need to redo anything. They can add an automated message at the beginning stating they are are aware some customers are experiencing issues with the App etc. Their communication (or lack of) has been woeful.

It’s not working for me and I need to track my daily spending to within a penny at the moment, I’ve no branch I can go into either, I’m seriously thinking about changing banks after this!

Equally aaarrrgh here. I got a text this morning to say I'm into my paid overdraft limit, so will be charged for it. Can I log on to transfer money between my accounts? No - and I don't have the app.
