My DIL

Is just the loveliest woman. If I'd have set out to find someone to share my sons life, I could not have found anyone more perfect

So happy he has found her, and that she is now his most important woman. Baton happily and firmly passed on

(Just thought I'd share this as my friends tend towards wanting to be their son's priority.)

Aw that’s lovely. I have a great relationship with my mother in law too.

I could have written this post too. DIL has brought so much to all of us in the family and is very much loved.

This is so lovely to read. My first MIL who I'm happily still in contact with; was lovely and her being so amazing really helped me and her son.
My future MIL is a force of nature but her being open with me helps me be a better partner to her son.
To add, my mum was so lovely with my ex to the point she was worried about his feelings when my dad recently passed.
What a lovely post ❤️

I read so many posts about the difficulties between MILs and DILS. I really do my best to be the best MIL I can be.. quietly supporting from the back; appreciating I'm not their mum and never will be.

It can be a tricky path the tread, but I am so so grateful I seem to have one that's willing to at least tolerate me lol.

How lovely of you to post.

I suspect this is a lot more common than MN posts would have you believe.

My ds has a lovely partner and I couldn't be happier if they decide to get married. Smile

My son has an amazing wife and I couldn't have chosen a better one. I loved her right from the get go.

How lovely.
I absolutely adore my DDIL , she is a wonderful woman and she has been the best thing that could ever happen to my son. I love her so much and I am so proud of all her achievements - I am always boasting about her ! (And her Mum is absolutely lovely too so my DS has a great relationship with his MIL as well)

This is a nice post! I have 2 DIL's and love them both. We had a rocky start with one, (the relationship was on and off for a few years), but they seem happy and the relationship between us has grown. Second son just was married this year, and a baby is already expected - happy times!

GertrudeSteinsbook · 24/11/2023 00:11

Lovely post, so happy you have that relationship. I get on well with my MIL too, it’s just a shame we live so far away from them.

honeysuckleweeks · 24/11/2023 00:21

Oh me too. My 2 oldest boys have the most lovely partners ( there are mutterings about marriage and babies). I could not be more pleased. I greet both of them with a huge hug everytime we see them, they are welcome in my house whenever they want, We message each other. It's fab. Totally part of the family and could not have picked better for my hugely beloved sons. Best of both worlds I think.

Such a lovely post but making me a bit sad. All of your DIL’s are very very lucky to have such great MIL’s.

I have a difficult relationship with my own mum and my DP’s mum has always disliked me (been together 20 or so years now).

I am dreading Christmas, as I always do, as see all these happy families all around me and then there’s myself and DP all alone. Would so love a proper happy family 😰
