Heading to Paris next week and I'm trying to get a few ideas for my itinerary. Are there any must see places to eat drink or see ? It'll be a short trip with my new boyfriend so I'm very excited!!

What sort of things do you like doing ?

the gardens in the Palais de Luxembourg are one of my favourite spots.
wandering around the Ile St Louis and grabbing an ice cream at Bertillon
pierre Herme for patisserie
wandering the areas around the Pompidou centre where there are fantastic chef supplies shops.
browsing the goodies at the wittily named G Detou, a Pâtisserie supply shop in the Rue Tiquetonne
the flower market on the Ile de La Cite
a ride on a bateau mouche
Lèche-vitrine in the place vendome at all the jewellers
parc des buttes chaumonts
if you can manage it dinner at Pierre Gagnaire. Incroyable.
Rue des Martyres for fantastic food shopping. Last time I went there was a great dim sum shop

Get tickets for the Moulin Rouge, they are mostly British and apparently it's a great atmosphere.i (Just finished watching 'Yes we Can Can' and I 'd love to see the show).

Go for a cruise on the River Seine.

Avoid the Eiffel Tower, it's always packed.

Eat at any restaurant near to your hotel, most Paris restaurants are good.

Take a day trip to Versailles.

Get your portrait painted in Montmartre.

Another vote for Les Jardins de Luxembourg.

Also, visit Sacred Coeur, for the fantastic view over the city and the music.

Take a hop in, hop off bus tour and then decide which places you want to see again.

I highly recommend Sébastien Gaudard Pâtisserie in the Rue des Martyrs.

Sacre Coeur is stunning. And then you can explore Montmartre.

The Sainte Chapelle on the Île de la Cité is breathtaking.

Rather than the Eiffel Tower—head to Montparnasse. That way, you get to actually see 360 degrees of Paris from its highest vantage point AND the Eiffel Tower as part of the view. (It has been closed for a bit this year; if it still is then try going to the top of the Arc de Triomphe).

Even if you don’t have hours to invest in actually going around the Louvre, it’s still worth a stroll outside and through the Tuileries.

Tuktuks are fun too!

Have fun Smile

Picasso's House is great.

I have to say that while I've been in sacre couer I didn't feel it was worth the queue.
we tend to try and avoid the crowds and keep to the more residential quartiers. However neither of us are fans of art or looking round museums/churches, we just like mooching about, drinking and eating. All of which are activities at which Paris excels.
