Ovarian cyst and periods

I have a 3cm simple cyst on my ovary (had a us scan a few months ago) was told it will go away on its own during a period. Currently on day 8 of my period and having a lot of clots does this mean the cyst is coming away ??

No cyst usually breaks down into the pelvic cavity outside of uterus so most of it won't come through vagina.
