Kids getting a second hand PS5 off BIL for Xmas. How does it work, Accounts, buying games etc. Literally have no clue. They currently have an Xbox which I don’t understand either - I don’t even know how to turn it on. Tell me everything I need to know!

So their Xbox games they currently have won't work in the PS5 - they're different gaming systems and the discs aren't compatible across consoles. So games they play now will need to be re bought as PlayStation games, if they want to continue playing them.

You set your PlayStation up and link it to your user account, you can pay for different things on this and play online games too (multi user or just the online games available). You can link your bank card to this so you can buy things online - depends how much you trust the dc with this one 😂 there's a monthly fee for the online accounts. You have a "PSN" online account which is your user account and has all of your details and let's you buy / play online.

Buying games - you can either buy they virtually through the PlayStation user account or in store as discs!

Thank you, I did get games would need to be bought again. Can I set up a PlayStation user account without the PlayStation? I assume BIL’s account can be removed. Can I have 1 account with separate users for each child, or 3 separate accounts? How can I control screen time? Do I need a parent account
