Binoculars recommendation

Have decided we need a pair of better binoculars as have reached an age where enjoy watching the birds and seals! Have no idea what to look for or how much, thinking as a gift around £150 up to £200. Any suggestions or websites for what I need to look for much appreciated.

I'm a total novice but the recommendation I had after a bird watching course was to buy the best you can afford from the RSPB website. I spent £180 on a pair, they are absolutely fantastic

I think it's worth trying binoculars, ideally somewhere with wildlife to look at! We got our binoculars and scopes from In Focus - they've got a few locations round the country and do events at nature reserve type places.
